The highest peak is Bobotov kuk with 2,525 m. Particularly impressive are the 18 glacial lakes, called “Gebirgsaugen”, at an altitude of more than 1500 m above sea level. The most beautiful and largest is the Black Lake with a wonderful landscape and the impressive peak of Medvjed above it. The center of the park is in the city of Žabljak. Žabljak is the largest winter sports center in Montenegro and has sufficient space in hotels and private accommodation, infrastructure for winter sports and services in the field of tourism and mountain hiking.
The mountain hiking trails are marked and there are organized mountain tours. In the zone of the national park you will explore the bends of the deepest canyon in Europe and its beauties in a raft, kayak or rubber boat in the current of the river Tara and carried by the sure hand of the rafter and bathe in the wonderfully clean water. The length of the Tara is 156 km, the canyon itself is 93 km long and up to 1300 m deep.
